Department introduction

The ultra-high precision Elekta gamma knife treatment technology is in line with the international standards.The radiotherapy technology of the department was synchronized with that of Peking University Cancer Hospital, and strictly followed the Chinese Society of Clinical Oncology (CSCO) guidelines for the diagnosis and treatment of nasopharyngeal Carcinoma. The whole process of radiotherapy, including body position fixation, target delineation, dosage, segmentation mode and so on, made an individual treatment plan. The Department of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Radiotherapy will carry out advanced radiotherapy techniques such as intensity-modulated radiation therapy, volumetric modulated radiation therapy and stereotactic body radiation therapy for head and neck tumors, and the proportion of precise radiotherapy will reach 100%. Compared with the traditional radiotherapy technology, precision radiotherapy not only has shorter treatment time and better dose conformal degree of the target area, but also has less radiation dose to the surrounding normal tissues, which greatly reduces the side effects of radiotherapy.Elekta Icon Gamma Knife represents the highest standard of precision in stereotactic radiosurgery today. The Leksell gamma knife is recognized as the gold standard for stereotactic radiosurgery with its radiological accuracy of up to 0.15 mm and unparalleled treatment stability.
